Indoor 4v4 Soccer League Rules

Game Format

• Teams: 4 players on the field per team (3 field players + 1 goalkeeper)

• Game Length: 35-minute games with a running clock

• No Halftime

Gameplay Rules

• Offsides: No offsides

• Out of Bounds:

  • All restarts are indirect free kicks

  • No throw-ins

• Restarts: Opponents must stand at least 5 yards away from the ball on all free kicks

• Kickoffs: Begin each game and restart after a goal; kickoffs are indirect

Substitutions

• Unlimited substitutions “on the fly” (players must exit before subs enter)

• Goalkeeper substitutions must be made during a stoppage in play

Fouls and Discipline

• Yellow Cards: Player must sub out for 2 minutes.

• Red Cards: Player is ejected and cannot return; team plays down a player for the rest of the game

• Serious foul play, violent conduct, or repeated dissent can result in a red card

Goalkeeper Rules

• Goalies may use hands only within the designated goal area

• No punting or drop-kicking — ball must be rolled, thrown, or passed from the ground

• Goal kicks are taken as indirect kicks from within the goal area

Scoring and Standings

• Win = 3 points, Tie = 1 point, Loss = 0 points

• Tie-breakers (for standings):

  1. Head-to-head result

  2. Goal differential

  3. Goals scored

  4. Coin toss

General Conduct

• All players must wear shin guards and proper indoor footwear

• Slide tackling is not allowed

• Respect for referees, teammates, and opponents is expected at all times
